I believe that people are always doing their best to care for themselves, even when their strategies no longer serve them. Therapy offers a space to better understand those patterns: how they’ve developed, what they’re protecting, and how they might be gently reworked. With consistent support and an honest, collaborative relationship, I work with clients to explore their stories, recognize contradictions, and question the assumptions that may be keeping them stuck.
Approach:
I approach each individual as a whole person shaped by their relationships, experiences, environments, and histories. While I strive to move away from over-pathologizing and distilling people down to diagnoses, I do believe that diagnostic frameworks can be helpful in making sense of our experience and guiding meaningful change.
My therapeutic practice is grounded in psychodynamic theory, with an emphasis on systems and attachment. I also draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and exposure-based approaches when working with anxiety, OCD, or phobias. I believe self-understanding is essential, though not always sufficient on its own. Often, real change comes from practicing new ways of being, even when those shifts feel unfamiliar or uncomfortable at first. This process looks different for everyone, and I work with each person to find what feels best for them.
Above all, I aim to bring warmth, safety, and curiosity into the room. I start by showing up authentically, in hopes that it inspires others to do the same. From there, we can lean into reflection, understanding, and growth.
