Many children, teens, and adults struggle with concentration and work completion. ADHD is one possible reason for these issues, but often individuals are diagnosed with ADHD without a formal assessment and provided with treatments and medications that do not seem to help.
Many other diagnoses can look similar to or mimic the symptoms of ADHD, which is why a formal evaluation is so important in order to obtain proper treatment. It is also common for ADHD to co-occur with other disorders such as anxiety, learning disorders, or autism spectrum disorders, thus a full evaluation can help determine if there are co-occurring disorders.
Assessment for ADHD is indicated if you or your child/ loved one experience:
- difficulty concentrating or paying attention
- easily distracted
- impulsivity or risk-taking behavior
- hyperactivity and difficulty sitting still
- poor organization skills
- failure to pay close attention to details and careless errors
- difficulty completing tasks that require sustained effort
