Doctoral Student Clinician
Growing up, I often felt like I was struggling to explore and define my identity which led to many instances of feeling isolated, depressed, and anxious. As I struggled to express these feelings, it was helpful to have support, understand different perspectives, access resources, and learn new skills. This helped me become the person I am today since I was able to realize how it’s okay to ask for help, take care of myself, and give myself grace rather than struggle to make things work or continue to hold myself to unrealistic expectations.
My goal is to be a person that supports you in working on your strengths and goals, guides you along your individual journey, and assists you with your decisions and learning of new skills.
Approach:
I do my best to foster a safe and accepting space where we work collaboratively. I think that it’s crucial to develop a trusting, nonjudgmental, and respectful relationship to first focus on getting to know each other throughout this process.
My approach incorporates multiple psychological theories as well as affirming and reflective practices. Each person is unique so my approach varies accordingly.
